The Movie Leader - I Loved it
Hmm...I know this movie has finished its 100days and this review is very late. But, better late than never is what i beleive :)
Ask me how i felt after watching the movie..i say, Great! I just cant stop appreciating Shekar Kammula for his honest efforts. Out and out political Movie, but no mudslinging, No indirect attacks, No mass elements, No massala songs or dialouges..everything that is very true in a very true sense. I'm sure the director didn't try making it as a commercial movie. I feel he has certain rules set for himself by self and he for sure does follow them. Not just a good director, but a good individual all the way!
I was impressed with Jentleman, Oke Okkadu, Bharatheeyudu, Khadgam kindaa social awareness movies....and with political backdrop movies like Bharathband, Ankusam, neti Bharatam, Pratighatana, blah blah blah... But this movie Leader lacks something that all the other movies had and thats the demarking factor which is placing Leader at top of all. Did i ever seen such clean political movie??? Nope...Never!
The hatred, helplessness, so much of wrong influences, political conspiracies, take it granted attitudes, we give you shit threats...there comes the honest anger used constructively in honest manner. This is not far from reality. I guess there are a lot of people out in this society, especially the educated youth have similar feelings on today's political scenario and on politicians. But with limited accessiblity, limited resources and on run for their own bread, could they change the system? Utmost, they can run their lives with good values and inspire compatriot to do so...but can't really outgo and change the whole system right? Infact, Kammula did not show hero changing people & their attitudes in this movie, instead he came far from such influences and formed a group of his own with likeminded and worked towards his mission of cleansing the corrupted system.
I pray here....I pray here loudly that this similar anger arises in one whoz born in politics and living with politics. The person who knows politics can only protect themselves from the offenders and can use them for right reasons, isn't it?
I loved certain dialouges in this movie like, "ee rojullo nijayithee ga pani cheyatam ante tyagam cheyyatame", "adapilla ki anyayam chesina vadini vadilesavu ante parledu anipisthundi, adapilla ki anyayam chesavu ante badha ga undi", "8:30 ki nenu governer ni meet avuthanu, 8:45 ki meeru vadini champeyyandi, CM ga unnappudu sangha vyathireka charyalu cheyyakoodadu kada..", "manaki 2 car lu chalava..20 kavala, 20 ekaralu chalava..200 kavala?", "naku meeru nachaledu sir"
Over all, I loved it...Loving it....and will love it!
